This is sort of both for ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) laylah's prompt ("lack of consent - the blade on your skin is what matters to me" ) and Jack's ("matching scars"), but I think mostly it is the Stein/Spirit I've needed to write for months. >_> Apparently I need kicking occasionally. PS everyone is still free to leave (more) prompts.
This is pre-series by quite a bit - they're probably mid-teens here - and not spoilery for anything more than the backstory you get in episode 5/chapter 2.

...It's actually been so long I don't remember if I've even flailed about Soul Eater properly here. Short version: Soul Eater is awesome, both anime and manga. The story is pretty much exactly the same up through episode 36 of the anime, where it's just starting to diverge. You can read the manga here.

O hey I actually finished one of these!
..."one of these" referring both to no_true_pair fic (I have three more in progress still) and 201X corporate AU fic (I have a kinkfest thing in progress that makes very little sense without this part). As well as fic in general, I suppose. It has been a while. ^^;
Although this is technically corporate AU, there is very little "corporate" in this part - just Firo and Akihiko in college.
Although later they both intern with the Kirijo Group. :D

So. I have been watching mahokiwi and laylah's second playthrough of TotA. I've been enjoying it a lot - we're just to where you meet Emperor Peony, and although I've seen some stuff a bit later too, I would greatly appreciate a lack of spoilers. ^^
...The thing you have to understand about this fic is that I wasn't shipping them at all - probably honestly hadn't even considered the possibility - but then there was a scene. And then unbearable hotness. And this attacked my head.
...I would have sworn I didn't have a brother/sister incest kink, but what do I know, apparently.
...I think I'm going to need some TotA icons. -_-; Tear icon get! :D
Tales of the Abyss, Van/Tear. 1.6k words. Exceedingly not worksafe.
Warnings for the aforementioned incest, and, while I don't know the timeline well enough to know exactly how old Tear would need to be here, I am almost certain that the answer is Too Young.

I should have written this a month or two ago, before additional (awesome but incomplete) canon attacked. I still like how it came out a lot, but I agonized over what to do with it for a while, and it ended up more referential (and PG) than it would have been had I either had no additonal canon or all of it. ^^;

This takes place a little bit past where the anime is now (episode 165), but any spoilers are mostly shounen-manga spoilers - that is, for what people fight each other and what their cool new powers are, and not for the actual plot. Plot? What plot? Bleach asks me. This is the part that's about FIGHTING. And I find myself unable to argue. So, y'know, if anyone wanted to read it without context. *cough*
...Just keep in mind: You have no idea how much of this I am not making up.

Someday, someday, I will learn to actually write these things ahead of time. I totally tried, with this one! I wrote the beginning of this prompt weeks ago! Only, last night I realized I had no idea where it was going the way it was, and that the beginning needed to be totally different, and also that the PoV needed to change. >_> And then the new story ended up being 1k+ words, of which maybe 100 were taken from the original draft.
But I like it now! Even the title! ^___^

So you know how sometimes in challenges there's a call to write tide-over bits for people, and how you go "Damn, I really want to help, and there are a few requests on there I might be able to manage, but nothing's really striking me right now," and then you go away and do something else?
...And you know how sometimes, later that night, you're watching anime and you get to a scene and you're like "...Huh. Y'know, I could really go for some [pairing] right now, actually," and then you go, "Wait - wasn't one of the orphaned requests for [pairing]? I could definitely write something."
Right. That was how this went.

So I like Ouran a lot, in a ridiculous fun way, but I am not terribly attached to any of the main cast. (Particularly not without Haruhi to foil off of.)
Kasanoda however is the most adorable yakusa heir ever, and he gets two whole episodes! But I really dislike how they end it, as it hits at least a couple of my squicks.
So yeah, I've been needing to write a fic like this for a while. I think it came out pretty well for how high the time-spent-procrastinating:time-spent-writing ratio was. ^^;

I have not managed to finish a fic for this round yet that came in at less than 1k words. There's still time, though, and I have three left that I haven't really started yet!
I had most of this one done weeks ago. I finished up the last bits last night, then decided that I didn't like it at all, that it was awkwardly structured and often awkwardly phrased and generally unexciting. Tonight, as I mentioned earlier, I set upon the task of tearing it apart and putting it back together so it didn't suck.
...It's better now, I think, though I do still wish I'd managed to get more action onscreen.
Also this will probably not be the last appearance of my older! independent! merchant-sailor-sky-pirate! almost-certainly-not-Revenant-Wings-compliant! Penelo.
