Haha, I bet you guys thought I'd completely forgotten about these! ...or possibly you guys just forgot about these yourselves. orz
After the few I did in comments, and then the break for CFUD, I'd been sort of pathologically avoiding them, which is... never a good sign for quality drabbles. But then suddenly yesterday I wanted to do them again, so I did all the rest last night and today! Don't look at me, guys. I don't even know. This takes place a little bit past where the anime is now (episode 165), but any spoilers are mostly shounen-manga spoilers - that is, for what people fight each other and what their cool new powers are, and not for the actual plot. Plot? What plot? Bleach asks me. This is the part that's about FIGHTING. And I find myself unable to argue. So, y'know, if anyone wanted to read it without context. *cough*
...Just keep in mind: You have no idea how much of this I am not making up.

So you know how sometimes in challenges there's a call to write tide-over bits for people, and how you go "Damn, I really want to help, and there are a few requests on there I might be able to manage, but nothing's really striking me right now," and then you go away and do something else?
...And you know how sometimes, later that night, you're watching anime and you get to a scene and you're like "...Huh. Y'know, I could really go for some [pairing] right now, actually," and then you go, "Wait - wasn't one of the orphaned requests for [pairing]? I could definitely write something."
Right. That was how this went.
Written for shiegra in the Valentine's round of het_challenge, which I didn't actually participate in officially.

Yay, reposts. ^^; My attention has been not very well focused on kinkfest this round, either reading or writing. As a result, this feels a little rougher than I might prefer. I still like it, and I had fun with it, but I might have to write these two again with no deadline sometime, because I love them lots. ^_^

The hardest week yet! Harder than angst week, harder still than fluff week. Humor on demand five days a week is killer. -_-
The other problem, which I realized the other night, is that it's also particularly hard when the pieces are short. When you only have 200 or so words, there's not much space for anything more than a short buildup and a punchline. And if the punchline fails, it's not particularly funny. With longer things you can throw in lots of snarky comments and smaller funny things, and even if some of them fall flat you can still achieve overall funniness. ...But it's hard for me to write that many words between 9pm and midnight on the day I need to post something, particularly when the first hour is often spent going "Dammitdammit, what can I write?" >_> Sunday's was posted at 11:57pm, and that was safely early compared to Saturday's, which made it in at 11:59:46 or so.
Anyway. Another odd set of fandoms this week, which I once more blame on the genre. All worksafe (in fact mostly gen), no spoilers to speak of.
I can't picture you with him, his future looks awful dim.

So I accomplished very little of my to-do list yesterday except for those things which were already accomplished when I posted it. >_> ...Oh, and Ironman!
Insights for this week: 1) Yeah, looks like it was just angst week digging up weird fandom ideas - this set is much more the sort of stuff I expect from myself. Though FMA still snuck in there. 2) It is one thing to think "ha! werewolf sizekink porn!" and another to actually find a concrete idea and write a few hundred words of it in a night. 3) The problem with "I might like you better if we slept together" as a prompt is that most of the pairings I thought of were people who decidedly would not like each other better if they slept together, or even claim to.
...Anyway! On with the porn! Kinda. The level of pure smuttiness varies. Definitely not worksafe, though.

And so the week of reposts begins. These are the shorter of my springkink bits - the 6/9 that actually managed to fall (more or less) in the 100-500 word range.
I'm very "meh" about a lot of these, particularly the Bleach ones - they feel more like character explorations than dynamic fic, especially the first two. (The third is just me cheating and writing smut from Yoruichi's PoV instead of figuring out how Urahara and Soi Fong could possibly get along.) But trying new things was interesting for me, at least.

The reveal for this round of yaoi_challenge was last night. Yay! I really like the anonymous format, and there's still a lot of fics from the last-minute rush that I still need to read. But this important part of this post is that I'm posting links to the fics that I wrote.
A Complication. FFVII:AC, Loz/Yazoo. This one was for starherd, who requested Loz/Yazoo smut, possibly with them messing with others. She also mentioned that Rude needed more love. Love is perhaps not quite what Rude gets in this, but... y'know. The first reaction I had upon seeing this one was panic that I had to write the triplets. That lasted about five seconds before I started forming ideas for a Loz/Yazoo perving-on-Rude fic. ^_^ I had a lot of fun with this one, and it was definitely stretching my comfort zone.
Some Days. Bleach, Ishida/Ichigo. For mistressrenet, who gave the prompt "Ishida and Ichigo's terrible, awful, no-good, very bad day gets a little better." No smut in this one, just fluff and snark. What was is odd is that this one was actually a lot harder to write, despite the fact that it's a pairing I'm lots more familiar with and had nothing really experimental in it. *shrug*
Overall, I enjoyed myself a lot. I did change my ad significantly for the V-day challenge based on things I learned from this round, though. I'm signed on for two fics for that one, and am really looking forward to writing them and also seeing what everyone else comes up with. ^__^

Hopefully the first in a series, as I attempt to use my 40-minute-each-way bus ride more creatively. Staring zombielike out windows loses some appeal after a few weeks, it seems...
Quality is not guaranteed, however, and length is constrained by how much I can successfully write in that time period. (Which depends on how bumpy the ride is. Heh.) Just trying to actually build a habit.
Believe it or not, this was originally intended to be a humor ficlet. I gave that up a few sentences in. That other ficlet is still around here somewhere, I'll see if I can sucessfully get it on paper on Monday.

The story behind the story: I dislike Byakuya greatly. His great redeeming explanation was okay for explaining, but not so much for redemption. So, being the masochist I am, I decided I needed to make myself understand him. In the process I filled in a lot of holes in the history to make things make sense. Then I needed to know how Rukia dealt with it...
