Near-Vetinari Experience
The problem was that Death was too straightforward. Vetinari was used to thinking in twists, loops, and three steps ahead.

So I like Ouran a lot, in a ridiculous fun way, but I am not terribly attached to any of the main cast. (Particularly not without Haruhi to foil off of.)
Kasanoda however is the most adorable yakusa heir ever, and he gets two whole episodes! But I really dislike how they end it, as it hits at least a couple of my squicks.
So yeah, I've been needing to write a fic like this for a while. I think it came out pretty well for how high the time-spent-procrastinating:time-spent-writing ratio was. ^^;

I have not managed to finish a fic for this round yet that came in at less than 1k words. There's still time, though, and I have three left that I haven't really started yet!
I had most of this one done weeks ago. I finished up the last bits last night, then decided that I didn't like it at all, that it was awkwardly structured and often awkwardly phrased and generally unexciting. Tonight, as I mentioned earlier, I set upon the task of tearing it apart and putting it back together so it didn't suck.
...It's better now, I think, though I do still wish I'd managed to get more action onscreen.
Also this will probably not be the last appearance of my older! independent! merchant-sailor-sky-pirate! almost-certainly-not-Revenant-Wings-compliant! Penelo.

Someday I will post one of these with more than an hour to go before it's late.
That said, I actually am pretty happy with this one right now! Certainly lots more than I was yesterday. Enough that now I can probably go read sister_coyote's version with only slight forebodings of inadequacy. ^^;

Last springkink repost, and then I move on to ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) het_challenge. (Reposting stuff is likely not terribly exciting for you all, I know, but I want to have everything here for completeness and on the off chance the communities crash and die or something.)
...This is probably the one that intimidated me the most, because my FFVII fandomship is much more skewed towards reading than writing, and people I admire greatly write Turks better than I think I ever could. That being said, I wanted to give it a try. And I did enjoy writing this. But rereading anything from this last batch of fic is still giving me an "urrgh" feeling, so I doubt I can give an objective assessment of quality.

Right, reposting, reposting. If I don't remember to do this I'll never get them all up.
So! Second-to-last springkink repost. I actually like this one a lot. All my springkink pieces are experimental in some way, but at least this one I was writing Balthier, which I feel like I can do fairly comfortably, so I got to experiment with things other than the utter basics. >_> It also has possibly the widest appeal of any fic I've ever written, on a completely practical level - smut with a highly popular character with no commitment whatsoever to preferred pairing or even sexual orientation! :D Heh.
Anyway. Takes place pre-game, so no spoilers to speak of.

Another springkink repost. This is the longest of them. It... well. Without spoiling anything: I love L/Light, and there's a time in the series that's amazing yaoi-cliche, but there are also circumstances which screw up their relationship dynamic for me, and so I hadn't been able to make sex during that time work at all in my head.
That is no longer true.
The dynamic is... well, more exploitative than L/Light usually is, or at least more slanted rather than mutually exploitative. I'm going to have to reread this fic in a while - it feels kinda fragmented to me, but I really like parts of it, so I have to see if it reads smoother when it's out of my head a bit.
This is situationally-spoilery, if you're not familiar with Death Note.

And so the week of reposts begins. These are the shorter of my springkink bits - the 6/9 that actually managed to fall (more or less) in the 100-500 word range.
I'm very "meh" about a lot of these, particularly the Bleach ones - they feel more like character explorations than dynamic fic, especially the first two. (The third is just me cheating and writing smut from Yoruichi's PoV instead of figuring out how Urahara and Soi Fong could possibly get along.) But trying new things was interesting for me, at least.
