SURPRISE FANDOM GO.
There are a couple people on my flist that are into Avatar, right? Maybe?
Er. Yeah. I have been watching Avatar at my brother's behest, and as of a week or so ago I have seen it all to date. I have not interacted with the fandom at all, and I had no plans to write for it, either, but apparently I really needed to write this. It was a lot of fun. ^^
Very not worksafe - explicit underage sex, both het and slash. ~2k words.
Takes place in an alternate version of 2x17, "Lake Laogai." In this continuity, the tea cart at the station had their jasmine tea at at acceptable temperature.

So you know how sometimes in challenges there's a call to write tide-over bits for people, and how you go "Damn, I really want to help, and there are a few requests on there I might be able to manage, but nothing's really striking me right now," and then you go away and do something else?
...And you know how sometimes, later that night, you're watching anime and you get to a scene and you're like "...Huh. Y'know, I could really go for some [pairing] right now, actually," and then you go, "Wait - wasn't one of the orphaned requests for [pairing]? I could definitely write something."

So yesterday, in aid of my kinkfest list, I found myself listing Baccano! pairings I wanted. I got to... seven or eight?... just listing the obvious ones. ^^
...This is not any of those.
I also found myself going, "With so many awesome girls, there has to be a decently plausible femslash pairing or two in here somewhere?"
...this is probably not one of those either. But it's what my brain came up with while I was attempting sleep last night. ^^; (As we all know, the time when my most insane brilliant ideas arrive.)
*cough* Anyway.

laylah's post a few days ago made me think about drabbles. But taking prompts right now would be silly; I have plenty of fic things to finish up (and several things to start) already. ^^ And I have been making progress! Only not tonight, for I am exhausted from work. So I am contenting myself with reorganizing my header post with purpose.

This one, now. :D I'm not sure what it says about me that what I picked to do as a Yuletide treat - something to write in a few hours as an extra bit to make people happy - was BDSM-flavored Discworld fic. Other than that I am awesome. :P
Anyway, like I alluded to earlier, when I finished Making Money I found myself really wanting Vetinari/Moist fic. Like, seriously. As much or more than I've ever wanted Vimes/Vetinari, which kind of amazed me. I requested it for Yuletide, myself.
I also saw at least two other people who mentioned it in their requests when I was looking through them for treats. This made me glee ridiculously. And my brain went, "What are the chances that any of us were matched up with someone who will pick this prompt?" and also "I can write this now, I think. And I really want to." So I did! And I think I may have broken some people with this one. :D
This has a few edits from the version on the Yuletide site. Just some awkward prose fixes, because it was posted at 3 am. ^^

My assigned Yuletide story, for koanju. It was an adventure; I wasn't anywhere close to finishing Persona 3 when I submitted my offer to write for it (a risk, I knew, but I figured I could get through it in time if necessary). In fact, I finished the game less than a week before the Yuletide deadline.
I think my only real problem with this is that I had a vision much too grand for the time I had to finish the fic. I got a good start - some cool ideas, some chunks of decent prose - down one night. The problem was that night was the night of the 18th, and the fic was due the next day, in which I only had a few hours to finish it. >_>
...I think it came out kind of neat, though I think I still would have preferred another few days or so to write a bit more and hack and edit. ^^;

Don't be fooled; these are last week's fics, which I realized I hadn't reposted here yet. This week is the last week, but I still have two more fics to post this weekend before I am done, done, done.
The thing about some of these is that they were written while my brain was foggy from my cold. I'm not sure what overall effect that had - at the very least, it seemed to act like writing fics while really tired in that it took a level of apprehensive "Can I pull this off? Does this make any sense?" off my cognitive processes, so they ended up somewhat more... adventurous. ^^

Yay, reposts. ^^; My attention has been not very well focused on kinkfest this round, either reading or writing. As a result, this feels a little rougher than I might prefer. I still like it, and I had fun with it, but I might have to write these two again with no deadline sometime, because I love them lots. ^_^

The hardest week yet! Harder than angst week, harder still than fluff week. Humor on demand five days a week is killer. -_-
The other problem, which I realized the other night, is that it's also particularly hard when the pieces are short. When you only have 200 or so words, there's not much space for anything more than a short buildup and a punchline. And if the punchline fails, it's not particularly funny. With longer things you can throw in lots of snarky comments and smaller funny things, and even if some of them fall flat you can still achieve overall funniness. ...But it's hard for me to write that many words between 9pm and midnight on the day I need to post something, particularly when the first hour is often spent going "Dammitdammit, what can I write?" >_> Sunday's was posted at 11:57pm, and that was safely early compared to Saturday's, which made it in at 11:59:46 or so.
Anyway. Another odd set of fandoms this week, which I once more blame on the genre. All worksafe (in fact mostly gen), no spoilers to speak of.

My ironman fics this week came to 3k words total, you guys. I don't know how this happened - I fail at writing AUs! I think my category: au tag has exactly one other thing in it at this point. I guess I have a tendency to want all the details before I write something. And most of the time that means I never write anything AU, and for these it just meant that I tried to hash out the environment more than I probably needed to.
Also, to aid in ideas by restricting the field of possibilities - and also because I am paranoid about keeping characters recognizable - these are all FF12, and in fact are basically Fran and Balthier Do Everything. ^^

So I accomplished very little of my to-do list yesterday except for those things which were already accomplished when I posted it. >_> ...Oh, and Ironman!
Insights for this week: 1) Yeah, looks like it was just angst week digging up weird fandom ideas - this set is much more the sort of stuff I expect from myself. Though FMA still snuck in there. 2) It is one thing to think "ha! werewolf sizekink porn!" and another to actually find a concrete idea and write a few hundred words of it in a night. 3) The problem with "I might like you better if we slept together" as a prompt is that most of the pairings I thought of were people who decidedly would not like each other better if they slept together, or even claim to.
...Anyway! On with the porn! Kinda. The level of pure smuttiness varies. Definitely not worksafe, though.

This... is a really weird set of stuff. Not objectively weird - okay, maybe the Light/Mikami one is objectively weird - but weird for me. I mean, the prompts screamed at me for most of these, but seriously: FF8, it's been nine months since the one time I wrote it before. Death Note is a bit more standard except that they're both late-series, which I haven't written and had no plans to. FMA - it's been a while and it intimidates me. House I have no excuse other than that I've been watching it and it was hard to come up with another idea around kittens.
I guess we'll see next week if the weirdness is because of the format or just because of it being the Week of Woe. Anyway, it made it probably a good thing that I didn't set myself a list of fandoms to write. As it turned out, my only extra rule for myself is that I must write in multiples of 100 words.
All ficbits carry warnings for woe, probable spoilers and possible rough writing.
The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall, and with each passing day I feel a little more like something dear was lost.

The problem was that Death was too straightforward. Vetinari was used to thinking in twists, loops, and three steps ahead.
