2008: The year in fic
I started to do the "first sentence of each month" meme, but my first post this January was the 2007 version of this, so I decided this would be more interesting. At least for me, and hopefully for other people, too. ^^; And hey, it's almost like new content.

If last year's fandom was FF12, this year's was ... Baccano/Persona 3.

This was mildly uncomfortable for me to write, because it skirts really close to a m/f dynamic that squicks me a lot. But I feel it's... true to the pairing? Which I do... like? Find interesting? I'm not sure. This is an interesting one for me to think about.

het_challenge fic with the most inconvenient deadline ever - after episode 15 was out raw, but not subbed, and definitely before episode 16. *sigh* I like some of the snippets, but the end is more of a statement on how I wanted the pairing to end up than anything, and the show did it better.

This was a lot better on the reread than I was expecting it to be, especially after RP'ing Graham for months now and remembering it with a mix of fondness and dread. Graham sounds like I write him! Yay!

Camp is partly to blame for the long gap, but it is also to blame for this fic, and indeed me getting into this series in the first place. I cannot bring myself to regret it at all.



...Well, that was informative! Compared to last year, I wrote a lot less, but mostly only because of... writing nothing for half of the year. And when I did write, it seems like it was stuff I liked better.
P-probably because this year, when I failed at challenges, I failed entirely and spectacularly, instead of writing a few hundred words of mediocre nothing. >_>
