It was too strange. It was stranger than the fact that she was here at all, attending school with normal people. Stranger than the fact that she was living here among them. Stranger than the fact people smiled at her as she walked down the hall.
That this girl would come knock on Chane's bedroom door and offer to share her homemade food – when she didn't even really know who Chane was – that was stranger even than the dish itself. All the parts of it were individually identifiable, but overall it was incomprehensible.
