This breaks my "only mildly interested" facade utterly

mahokiwi, I kind of hate that you play Ladd in camp. Hate in the... good way?

You see, I got home from dinner and I still had a Firefox tab open to Ladd's thread with Harry, so I went back and read the one with Jinana too. And also the last couple of threads from July. And also your post on how Ladd relates to other people.

And it was all pretty hilarious and/or awesome!

My problem, you see, is that I can't read things without wanting to play. So now I'm really really wanting to play. -_-; More so than I have been hearing people talk about it, even. And I am pretty sure I don't have the time for that!

...Someone convince me of this, please.

In the meantime I suppose I will take my laptop to bed and attempt to write fic until my brain shuts up a bit. >_>;

I mean, I am bad at pretending having more people I think are cool in game doesn't please me (not that the people who are already there aren't cool)

I wont lie -- it is pretty time-consuming. Even on the nights when Ladd himself isn't doing anything, I usually have Colloquy (the mac version of IRC) open, even if just in the background....although to be fair, I'm really just doing that in lieu of sitting and pointlessly refreshing my flist and watching it not do anything? So.

Iiiiif you were going to app someone you'd probably want to read the helpful guide they put up in the user info, and poke around at some of the recent voting rounds to see what the apps are like? (I found it helpful to look at the ones that didn't get in, really) and reading the crit left in comments to those posts. :33

Yeah. I - I might've gone and read the helpful guide and a bunch of FAQs and stuff last night after this post instead of doing anything productive. >_>

My problem (other than having not enough time, and I am having trouble convincing myself that really I don't have physically enough time) is that the person I really want to app is Graham. And

a) you said someone was planning on doing that already?
b) his voice might be hard to app
c) his voice might be hard to play, even assuming I get in.

(No seriously, self, if you haven't even finished the fic with him in, why do you think apping is a good idea?)

...But but I waaant to~

a) yes, but double apps happen all the time (I think we had four, last round x_x); realistically, double apps are harder, because not only do you have to be good you need to be better than the other person, as well. (and really, apping sounds scary, but I think almost everyone got in, last round. I would be surprised if more than 10% were voted out)

b)yes. But so was Ladd; you've also already written some fic with graham in it, and from what I've seen you can do it pretty well, for a guy who's difficult to get a handle on.

	Solidarity! I am the same way. ^^; I'm lucky in that most of the folks that I'd want to play would be too old to be campers, and counselor apps just finished, so it'll be a Loooooong time probably before they go up again. 	Yeah, uh. I sort of fail epically at just being an audience member. ^^; I have no setting between "disinterested" and "omg omg I want to play" Counselor apps, though, yeah, every six months-ish?
